Dual Diagnosis Anonymous - 12 Step + 5 Step Program

THE 5 STEPS OF DUAL DIAGNOSIS ANONYMOUS

1. I admitted that I have a mental illness in addition to our substance abuse and I accept my Dual Diagnosis.

2. I became willing to accept help for both of our Diseases.

3. I accept the fact that medical management, clinical interventions and therapies as well as complete abstinence from all non-prescribed drugs and alcohol are necessary in my recovery program.

4. I came to believe that when my efforts are combined with the help of others and God as we understand him, recovery is possible.

5. In following the 12 steps of recovery and the 5 steps of Dual Diagnosis Anonymous I will develop healthy drug and Alcohol free lifestyle and help others.

6. I researched american government essay topics that mention all health problems, especially those of mine.


THE 12 STEPS OF DUAL DAGNOSIS ANONYMOUS

1. Admitted we were powerless over our dual diagnosis, and that our lives had become unmanageable.

2. Came to believe that a higher power could restore us to sanity

3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives Over to the care of God as we understood him.

4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.

5. Admitted to God and to ourselves and another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.

6. Were entirely ready to have God remove these defects of character.

7. Humbly asked God to remove our shortcoming.

8. Made a list of persons we had harmed and became willing to make amends to them all.

9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible except when to do so would injure them or others.

10. Continued to take personal inventory and when wrong promptly admitted it.

11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood him, praying only for knowledge, of Gods will for us and,
the power to carry that out.

12. Having had a spiritual awakening as a result of these steps we tried to carry this message to others who are dually diagnosed and to practice these principles in all our affairs.
